Special Needs International sponsored by FF

The first European Special Needs Judo International, was held at Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre, Bristol, and attracted a wide range of entries from half a dozen nations.

The event was organised by Bradley Stoke coach Steve Westlake and sponsored by Fighting Films, who provided the mats for the competition.

“An event like this really proves that judo is an exciting sport for everybody - regardless of their ability,” said FF Director Simon Hicks. “And we are pleased to give it as much support as we can.”

Great fighting spirit and sportsmanship was displayed throughout the day by all the players.

IJF photographer Bob Willingham covered the event whilst Athens Olympic Games announcer Kim Hicks provided a running commentary during the surprisingly skilful finals, adding greatly to the exciting atmosphere.
