The 2006 Fighting Films GB World Cup for women is now on sale.Recently featured on Sky Sports, the 25 minute programme includes coverage from all seven weight categories.
Described as one of the best judo events held in Great Britain, the World Cup attracted many of the top judo nations and produced some stunning action.
"As hosts of the World Cup we could have cameras wherever we wanted," said Fighting Films Director Simon Hicks. "It means that we’ve not missed a single score or emotion."
The two-day tournament - held at the NIA, Birmingham - boasted four British entries in each category, and featured fighters from all over the world, including China, USA, Cuba and Russia.
An action-packed music sequence introduces the World Cup, followed by an interview with former World Champion Kate Howey and an explanation of how to score ippon in judo.
This is followed by coverage and extended highlights of all seven categories, starting with the –48kgs and ending with the dramatic +78kgs final between Karina Bryant (GBR) and Tea Donguzashvili (RUS).
As the first World Cup ever to be held in Britain, it was a hailed a huge success, with a fantastic atmosphere, great sound and lighting, and some of the best female judo action in the world.
