The competition consisted of a major Open Individual Junior tournament on Easter Saturday, followed by first an Open Junior Team tournament on Easter Sunday with the highlight of the weekend being an International Junior Team Tournament between the three Celtic Nations, Wales, Northern Ireland and hosts Scotland.
"Fighting Films believe that the Celtic Cup is going to develop into a great junior tournament," said FF Director Simon Hicks, "and out of an event like this will come the British champions of the future."
Excellent flags and banners, with Celtic music and professional announcements to march on to, set this tournament above most Junior events. Add the Fighting Films sponsored back start numbers, lovely medals and the truly beautiful international team trophies and the Cup is already establishing itself as one of the major junior British competitions.
The Fighting Films Celtic Cup International honours for 2006 were shared between the three nations, with Northern Ireland winning the Girls -12 event, Scotland winning the Girls -16 event and Wales winning both of the boys -12 and -16 team events. We are already looking forward to being involved with next year's Fighting Films Celtic Cup.
