THE LATEST FROM FIGHTING FILMS!

Fighting Films aim to make 2007 a record-breaking year, with the expected release of seven DVDs in 2007.

The 2006 Judo World Team Championships, which became available in February and has been hailed as the best competition production to date, will be followed by 'Judo for Self Defence' in May.

Filmed in the Dominican Republic last October, Judo for Self Defence shows the ideas of four world experts, all of whom incorporate self defence techniques into their judo sessions.

It is the third DVD in the IJF Coaching Series, and is introduced by the IJF Education and Coaching Director Yasuhiro Yamashita.

Further DVD releases this summer will include 'The Grappling Series', '2007 European Judo Championships' and '101 Judo Ippons 2003-2005'.

The Grappling Series will be a transfer of the original series, which, currently, is only for sale on VHS. Originally on two videos, this production will be available on a single DVD.

An action-packed 2007 European Championships from Belgrade, Serbia, this month, was full of surprises and a new style of judo, and has prompted FF to produce a record of the tournament.

The latest in the best-selling 101 Judo Ippons series, 2003-2005, will include throws, submissions and hold-downs from seven European ‘A’ tournaments, two World Championships, the 2004 Junior Worlds, 2005 Europeans, 2005 World Teams, amongst others.

FF’s work in September takes them to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the 2007 World Championships, and to Birmingham, where they host the Fighting Films GB World Cup for men.

A one hour programme of the World Cup will be broadcast on Sky Sports, and then made available on DVD in October.

The seventh production will be a surprise coaching DVD, which Fighting Films intend to release in time for Christmas.
