The four-times World Silver Medallist Karina Bryant has decided to wear Fighting Films’ Master Gi for the rest of her fighting career.Bryant, who has also won the European Championships four times, and is considered one of Britain’s most successful female judokas of all time, has been wearing Fighting Films for the last eight years.
“It was an easy decision for me,” said Bryant, 28. “They are a good fit and I don't find them heavy. Some kits are quite heavy and it's hard to manoeuvre. The FF gis are moveable and it's easy to execute techniques.
“Why would I want to change when they've worked so well over so many years? It's something I'm comfortable in, and want to stay comfortable in.”
Bryant has had a year out of judo to rest and recuperate, but is now on the comeback trail for the 2007 World Championships in Rio and 2008 Beijing Olympics.
She hopes to cap off her career by fighting infront of a home crowd for the 2012 Olympic Games, in London, England.
During this time Bryant will only train and compete in the Master Gis, believing they help her performance at the top level.
She added: “I’m proud of my kit. I always fold it and look after it. I've always said 'if you look after your kit, it'll look after you'. I wouldn't want to fight in any other kit. They are perfect for me. It makes my job a little easier, and all these things help in winning.”
