At just 26, Bryant has joined a select group of fighters, having now won the tournament four times.

Bryant said: “It’s a great feeling, especially after the disappointment of the Games”

In the final Bryant beat Tea Dongouzashvili, of Russia, whom she’d lost to four times previously, and won just once.

“My final I was very pleased with,” she said. “ I tried to play quite a tactical fight.”

Bryant after taking Gold The next major competition for Bryant is in September, where she’s aiming to take the gold medal at the World Championships in Cairo, Egypt.

Twice World silver medallist, she will need to be at her best to take one of the only medals that still eludes her.

Bryant wears the Fighting Films Master Gi and says that the kit contributes to her victories.

She added: “I wouldn’t want to fight in any other kit. They are perfect for me. They do a brilliant job for me and are not too heavy. It makes my job a little easier, and all these things help in winning.”
