News & Events > Conway and Adlington both medal in Minsk
GBR number one at U70kg, Sally Conway, put in a great performance in Minsk on the 11th of October to take gold. After a dissapointing performance in Birmingham, Conway was back to her best, beating some tough opposition to take 1st place. In the final she faced the gold medallist from Birmingham, Mylene Chollet of France, whom she overcame with a waza-ari score. Conway also managed to overcome the tough Polish fighter, Katarzyna Klys on her way to the final.
"I was pleased to fight Klys of Poland as she does well at the tournaments and I haven't had the chance to fight her before Belarus." Said Conway after the tournament. "For the next couple of months I am hoping to train and compete in Japan in the Tokyo Grand Slam. I feel it will help me make the improvements I need to become better."
Meanwhile, Sarah Adlington, O78kg, continued her fine from by taking a Silver medal to add to her Gold from Birmingham.
