For Inoue, it is just as important for a judoka to believe in their ability to throw and to launch themselves into an attack with 100 percent confidence. No truer is this than with all or nothing throws such as Osoto gari. When Inoue attacks with Osoto he says that it is paramount to commit fully to avoid the risk of being countered. This is why when he throws with Osoto gari in competitions, he hurls himself forwards and doesn’t stop driving until his opponent’s back is on the mat.
